Entrepreneurial women from the Eurocity of Guadiana meet in Castro Marim

Business women, women in politics, associations and students will come together to debate, share experiences and participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe

A group of women from different areas will meet tomorrow, 19 November, Women's Entrepreneur Day, at the Local Market of Castro Marim, from 10:00 am, to discuss the main challenges facing women entrepreneurs in a cross-border context.

This meeting will also be attended by other representatives of local and European authorities such as Filomena Sintra, deputy mayor of Castro Marim, Natalia Santos, alcaldesa de Ayamonte, Conceição Pires, councilor of Vila Real de Santo António, Elsa Cordeiro, deputy -president of CCDR Algarve, and María Angeles Benítez, director of the Representation of the European Commission in Spain, who will intervene by telematic means.

Academic and professional presentations by Blanca Miedes, professor at the University of Huelva, and Vanessa Nascimento, from Algarve Techhub and Algarve Evolution, and practical experiences of businesswomen or project managers, such as the Spanish Reyes Tirado or the Portuguese Laura Ribeiro and Sandra Pais, from University of Algarve, are part of the program.

One of the highlights of the day will be the final debate, included in the consultation process with citizens: Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), with the (online) participation of MEP Marisa Matias. Contributions from all attendees are recorded on the CoFoE platform.

This event takes place within the scope of the EuroGuadiana2020 project, co-financed by the European Union, through the Cross-border Cooperation Program Spain – Portugal Interreg VA (POCTEP), and has the support and co-organization of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AME Huelva), of the EURES Transfrontiers of Andalusia and Algarve, of Europe Direct Algarve and Huelva and their respective host structures, Diputación de Huelva and CCDR Algarve.
