Access Cultura, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, will hold, on December 13th and 14th, in Faro, two training actions, with the aim of training cultural agents in the Algarve in matters such as cultural management and disability, as well as the use of audio description.
On the first day, Maria Vlachou will address the topic “Disability and Cultural Management”. Throughout the session, "various aspects of the work of a cultural organization will be addressed, bearing in mind that, when inclusion and diversity are seen in a more holistic way, multiple and diverse creative opportunities arise", explains the Regional Directorate of Culture .
The access of all to cultural spaces and the inclusion of people with disabilities in teams of cultural spaces or the programming of their artistic works are also issues to be discussed during the training.
Anaísa Raquel will be responsible for introducing the topic “Introduction to audio description”, which will be addressed on December 14th. This time, the importance of audio description for the creation of a more inclusive and accessible culture will be discussed.
During the training, the different approaches to the construction and provision of this service will also be discussed, the different steps for the inclusion of this service in the programming of a museum, gallery, theater or concert hall will be presented, and audio description scripts adapted to various artistic and cultural manifestations».
This action does not train audio-descriptors, but allows cultural professionals to better understand the potential and the necessary logistics for providing the service.
The actions take place in the auditorium of the Regional Directorate of Cultural of the Algarve, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm. Participation will be free, with mandatory registration (application form).
