Algarve swimmer Filipe Santos participates in the DSISO European Championship

High goals for the Lagoon swimmer

Filipe Santos, swimmer at Lagoa Académico Clube, and his coach Paulo Sousa are leaving to represent Portugal in the DSISO European Championship (Down Syndrome International Swimming Organization) which will take place in Ferrara (Italy) from the 4th to the 11th of October.

First, they will be at the concentration at the Center for High Performance in Rio Maior, where they will join the remaining nine athletes and coaches from the Portuguese Swimming Federation that will participate in this championship.

Filipe Santos will swim in the following events: 200 meters Mariposa (6th of October), 50 meters Mariposa (day 7), 50 meters Freestyle (day 9) and 100 meters Freestyle (day 10).

According to the athlete's coach, the main objective is "to make a podium and be present in the finals (8 swimmers) in the four competitions in which he participates", as well as "to contribute to the best possible result in the relays in Portugal".
