The program for the month of November of Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, will be dominated by initiatives belonging to four festivals that will pass through the Algarve capital: the “Verão Azul”, the “International Guitar Festival of Faro”, the “BACKPACK”, and the “MOMI”.

O "Blue Summer Festival" will present, on the 18th of November, the play “Ele Escribeu Por 25 Tostões”, a show selected through a call to local artists who participated in the Artistic Training Program developed in 2020. On the following day, the 19th, he takes to the stage at the Teatro das Figuras the show “The Importance of Being Alan Turing”, by Miguel Bonneville.

On the 20th of November, the concert route “Cantos de Trabalhos Impossíveis”, ZA!, will start abroad, in a place communicated only after booking tickets, and will end at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro.

“A common thread unites the transformations that have taken place over the last 60 years in the Algarve and Costa Brava or in Barcelona, where ZA! come from. Economic activity is now centered on tourism, hotels, services and the natural environment has suffered a sustainability crisis due to its over-exploitation», says Teatro das Figuras.

This «radical» transformation is one of the main focuses of this project developed by Eduard Pou and Pau Rodríguez (ZA!). The show-route was based on new and impossible work songs associated with today's professions, «updating the traditional repertoire of Algarve work songs centered on agriculture and fishing», he explains.

Also on this day, the closing party of the Summer Blue Festival will take place to the sound of BlackBambi, Miguel Bonneville's pseudonym for his solo project, linked to electronic music.

On the 18th of November there will be a guided tour and a debate, with Pauliana Valente Pimentel herself accompanying the public on the visit to her photographic installation. At the end, the artist, who will also be accompanied by an element from the Gypsy community, will open space for debate.

The Municipal Library of Faro will also host the festival with “Histórias Magnéticas” on 16 November, a project by guitarist and composer Sérgio Pelágio dedicated to composing soundtracks for children's stories. Together with Isabel Gaivão, they interpret live short stories accompanied by original sounds, recreating the environments of the narratives and building, in real time, and together with the small spectators, new meanings.

Within the scope of the International Guitar Festival of Faro, Teatro das Figuras will receive, on November 5th, the Andalusian concert by the Guitar Quartet concordis with the Southern Classical Orchestra.

This concert “is a work rarely performed, either because of the technical difficulty inherent in each soloist, or because of the difficulty of finding a solid quartet willing to do so”, emphasizes the organization. As a program work «it is undoubtedly an original and suitable choice for the Concordis Quartet, which brings together the necessary skills given the long and significant path taken together».

On the following day, November 6, António Zambujo performed in Faro, on your record Voice and guitar, in a «reunification of the public in the capital of the south of the country with one of the greatest contemporary artists, authors and interpreters of Portuguese music and language, and one of its most notable ambassadors in the world».

«And if there are many worlds within António Zambujo's world, live, whether he is only presented with his guitar or surrounded by his musicians, we know that he is an excellent singer and musician, with a unique ability to captivate and communicate with the public», refers Teatro das Figuras.
