AHP debates the future of tourism in Albufeira

The gigantic scale of the task of restoring tourism requires additional efforts and close cooperation between individuals, companies, states and international institutions.”

The future of tourism will be debated in Albufeira, during the 2021 Hotel and Tourism Congress of the Hotel Association of Portugal, which will take place between the 10th and 12th of November, at the NAU Salgados Palace, in Albufeira.

The chosen theme, “Tourism has a Future”, is, for the event's organizers, “more than a theme, it is the certainty of the entire sector”.

"The ambition of the 32nd Congress of Hotels and Tourism is great, as is the responsibility: to define the fundamental traits of the path along which we believe our common future will pass, as hoteliers focused on business sustainability, yes, and therefore also as citizens fully committed to the planet and people,” summarizes AHP.

The organization also says that “tourism has gone through in these almost 2 years the most serious economic crisis in memory, and no nation in the world was spared the devastating effects that Covid-19 unleashed. Notwithstanding the measures taken by several countries and organizations to mitigate the socio-economic impacts of the crisis, and even to stimulate recovery, the gigantic scale of the task of tourism recovery requires additional efforts and close cooperation between individuals, companies, states and international institutions ».

the congress, in which interested parties can still apply until November 5th, starts on the 10th, at 19 pm, with the Get Together. The 11th and 12th of November will be divided into plenary sessions and parallel sessions with urgent and pertinent themes for the recovery and future of Hospitality and Tourism.

The main topics for debate are: "Tourism has a Future", "The importance of air accessibility in the recovery of Tourism in Portugal", "The Financing of hotel companies", "Algarve: where are the threats and opportunities?" and “New Start, New Thinking: the vision of outsiders!”.

There will also be three parallel sessions, one on “Human Capital – the challenge of the decade”, another on “Digitalization of hotel companies” and the third on “Business sustainability and corporate social responsibility”

The program can be found on the organization's website.
