Also in the “air” but in a very different way, let's move on to arborism. O Adventure Park, with parks in Albufeira, Lagos and Vila Real de Santo António, divides its activities into three levels: curious (13 euros), adventurous (15 euros) and fearless (19 euros).

The Algarve is full of walking trails! This is an activity increasingly sought after by both local walkers and tourists. I leave you with three suggestions of trails you can take, without resorting to specialized guides, in order to get to know breathtaking landscapes.

The Via Algarviana connects Alcoutim to Cabo de São Vicente. It is a route that crosses the entire Algarve, passing through 11 municipalities, and is marked on the ground, and also has a website. «The route is segmented into sections of up to 30 km, which have an interpretative and information sheet available on the website. It is intended to publicize everything related to the natural and cultural heritage, as well as accommodation, restaurants and support services».

In addition to this long route, which takes about 15 days to travel in its entirety, there are shorter routes along the Via Algarviana, most of them circular, to be covered in just one day. Now that the days are very hot and that doing 30 kilometers can become a torment or even an unrecommended activity, these shorter tours are the best option. On the Via Algarviana website, you will find all this information.

The same goes for the Rota Vicentina, which connects Cabo de São Vicente to Santiago do Cacém, whose best time to visit is in autumn, winter and spring. However, there are also some sections, closer to the sea, which can be done in midsummer, as well as shorter routes, circular or not, which are easy to do even at this time of year.

For those who don't want to venture on such a long and exhausting route and just want to spend a different day, the Path of the promontories is indicated. On the coast of Lagoa, there is another walk along the cliff, the 7 Suspended Vouchers, on the coastal strip between Praia da Marinha and Vale Centeanes.

The Caminho dos Promontórios has a 6-kilometre walk (12 km round trip), always on the edge of the cliff and with the sea as a backdrop. Along the coastal strip between Praia do Molhe (Ferragudo) and Praia do Paraíso (Carvoeiro), you will discover landscapes worthy of a painting.

The tour will take you to some emblematic places along the Algarve coast, such as the Farol from Ponta do Altar and Torre da Lapa.

Don't forget that comfortable shoes and clothing are mandatory requirements for this type of activity. Avoid the hottest hours, take a bottle of water and enjoy.

O Bié Equestrian Club, in Gambelas (Faro), is a riding center founded in 1986. The center caters to all those who want to learn and practice this sport and beyond. If you want to have your baptism, take a walk and interact with these wonderful, super intelligent animals, this is the place for you.

The tours can take one or two hours and you are sure to find magnificent landscapes in the Ria Formosa Natural Park. “Our tours give our clients an incredible experience on horseback with unique landscapes”. In high season, tours are recommended in the morning or at the end of the day, due to the hot temperatures in the Algarve.

Here there are no ideal ages or genders. The activity is for everyone who wants to collect moments.
