Animation on summer evenings returns to the streets of Albufeira from tomorrow, the 18th, until the first half of September.

The entertainment program for the bathing season in Albufeira will feature a "diverse musical offer" and a repertoire that "promises to liven up the most touristic areas of the city, with sounds ranging from traditional Portuguese music to Jazz", according to the Chamber.

The initiatives will take place in a mobile format in the main tourist areas of the city, three times a week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), from 20 pm to 00:22 pm.

Tomorrow, the entertainment starts at 20 pm, with a fanfare of the Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters on Avenida Sá Carneiro, between Jardim de Montechoro and the Oura roundabout.

At 21 pm, the same musical group “moves downtown, starting its performance from the pedestrian area of Avenida da Liberdade (old bus station), passing by Largo Engº Duarte Pacheco, Rua 30 de Outubro, Rua Cândido dos Reis, Cais Herculano, Praça dos Pescadores and Pau da Bandeira, with the promise of entertaining residents and tourists on the terraces or strolling in the area».

The path taken by the invited groups, ranging from brass bands to fanfares and folklore groups, is always the same.

José Carlos Rolo, Mayor of Albufeira, stresses that, «despite the circumstances, we have to continue working so that Albufeira continues to be recognized for knowing how to welcome those who visit us».

"Every year, during the summer, the city's downtown is a privileged stage to make known our local artists, ethnography and popular culture in its various artistic expressions, a situation that was compromised by the pandemic," said the mayor.

"We had to find a different strategy, based on the concern to avoid agglomerates that promote the spread of the virus and that, instead of promoting the usual shows on the fixed stage of Largo Engº Duarte Pacheco, bring entertainment to the places where they are found. people», explained José Carlos Rolo.

On Saturday, the 19th, it's Batukalgarve's turn to show their music.

Until the end of June, the Banda Filarmónica de S. Brás de Alportel (Wednesday 23rd), Albufeira Folklore Ranch (Friday 25th) and Banda Ruído à Portuguesa (Wednesday 30th) will be performing -fair).
