Sanctuary of the Sovereign Mother in Loulé

The new direction of the National Pastoral for Tourism Work will be presented today at the Mother Sovereign Sanctuary in Loulé, where the new team, which is now directed by Algarve priest Miguel Lopes Neto, will take possession.

Marking World Social Communications Day, with the presentation of the Pope's Message for the purpose of this day, the National Secretariat for Social Communications and the National Work for the Pastoral of Tourism are promoting a colloquium on the challenges of the post-pandemic era in the field of communication and of tourism.

With the beginning scheduled for 17:30 pm, the meeting begins with the opening speech by the Bishop of Algarve, D. Manuel Neto Quintas and the analysis of the challenges that the post-pandemic era poses to communication, with the intervention of D. João Lavrador, president of the Episcopal Commission for Culture, Cultural Goods and Social Communications, and the intervention of four journalists.

The challenges that the post-pandemic era poses to tourism will also be the subject of reflection Alexandra Rodrigues Gonçalves, director of the Superior School of Hotel and Tourism Management of the Algarve, and Margarida Franca, a member of the Pastoral do Turismo National Work team, on a panel moderated by Elisabete Rodrigues, director of Sul Informação.

The session will take place in person at the Mother Sovereign Sanctuary, in Loulé (Algarve), but also via videoconference.
