Paulo Pinheiro and Pedro Marreiros will use a new Porsche in the Portuguese Speed Championship

The pair of pilots will be present in all scheduled events

Paulo Pinheiro and Pedro Marreiros will use a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 4.0 in the Portugal Speed Championship, which starts next weekend, May 1st and 2nd, at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão.

In 2020 Pedro Marreiros and Paulo Pinheiro used a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 3.8 that helped them win this championship.

«For 2021, recognizing that the bar is much higher and the quality of cars and drivers demanded a firmer bet, they opted for the use of a 911 GT3 Cup 4.0, now being better armed for a tough but very interesting fight on the track ahead», says this duo.

The pair of drivers will be present in all scheduled races starting with the triple journey that takes place on the same weekend as the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Portugal.

For Paulo Pinheiro, who is also the director of the AIA, «it's been very gratifying to collaborate in the laying of the foundations for a national speed competition with head, torso and limbs that deserves to be labeled the “Campeonato de Portugal” and, of course, is a reason to be proud to be at the genesis of all this».

«The competitive side turns out to be fascinating and after winning the Open in 2020, naturally the project with Pedro Marreiros had to continue. And we're going to fight well 'armed' and hoping to do our best. The competition is full of quality drivers so repeating the 2020 success will not be easy. But these are the most stimulating challenges and that is why we are going to fight with fervor and desire to win», he adds.

«In recent years I have had a few trips abroad and I always said that there was a competition of this caliber in Portugal. After the 'draft' of 2020, we finally have a speed competition that deserves to receive the title of 'Campeonato de Portugal', with a high-quality squad in terms of drivers and machines», says, in turn, Pedro Marreiros.

«I feel proud, together with Paulo Pinheiro, of having built this competition, which made me abandon the races abroad where I was comfortable to compete in Portugal and enjoy a championship that will be rich in emotion and uncertainty in the final result». concludes.
