Festival that will support professionals of the Algarve's culture has already closed

The festival “Algarve é union” brings together artists from different areas

The poster of the Festival “Algarve is Union”, a solidarity initiative for cultural professionals that will take place online on the 8th and 9th of May.

O initiative program includes 16 shows, which will be streamed live here, and brings together music, theater, poetry, stand-up comedy and dance.

«These are two days in which various arts unite in support of a solidary cause, with the aim of supporting cultural professionals, through fundraising, basic necessities and non-perishable foodstuffs, at the same time as “it sets the stage” again», according to União Audiovisual, which organizes the event.

On the 8th, a Saturday, from 14 pm, the Algarve Dance Academy, Urban Xpression, As Histórias da Rosa Curiosa, VATe, Cena de Cena, Plasticine, The Black Teddys, Fuza Flowz, Daniel Kemish, Dj will take to the stage Deelight and Bubba Brothers.

On May 9th, the public can count on performances by Leon Baldesberger, Gaveta da Pedra, Kilavra, Macadamia Acoustic experience, Nanook, Stone Breaker, 8000 Comedy Show, LUM and Teresa Aleixo, with the shows starting at the same time.

The festival's closing is done by Wilson Honrado, in a performance scheduled for 22:00, accompanied by the visual performance of Vj Draft, who is also present on the sets of DJ Deelight and Bubba Brothers.

«In addition to the artists who take the stage, there are many technicians who are present at this “Algarve é União”, an event that is also held for these professionals, but which, above all, is only possible because of the unique work they do. », added the organization.

In addition, there are well-known names in the cultural sector who assume themselves as ambassadors of this cause, namely Viviane, Luís Vicente, Eliseu Correia, SEN, Môçe dum Cabréste, Tim, Fernando Júdice, Wilson Honrado, among many others.

Access to the festival is free, but anyone who wants can contribute (minimum 1 euro) to the solidarity cause that inspires the event, through this link.

Another way to help is in kind. On the days when the festival takes place and in the week it takes place, it will also be possible to contribute with the delivery of non-perishable food and basic necessities, in different parts of the Algarve (see list below).

Everything that is raised reverts entirely to the Audiovisual Union, which has boosted food aid (and not only) to professionals in the food sector in this period of crisis caused by the pandemic.

According to Inês Sales, from União Audiovisual, it was with «great desire to support professionals in the cultural sector and to give them a voice, that União Audiovisual organized and produced a cultural event giving visibility to Algarve artists from different areas. arts such as theatre, dance, poetry, music and the stand up comedy».

According to the head of communication at União Audiovisual, “the greatest support we can give these artists and technicians, in addition to food and basic necessities, are the applause, the presence and the smiles of welcoming them with open arms, where they love to be the most… on stage!».

– Re-Creative Cultural Association República 14 – Olhão: May 5th, between 10:00 and 14:00; 7th, between 17:30 pm and 23:00 pm; 8th and 9th, between 10:00 am and 23:00 pm

– ETIC_Algarve – Faro: May 8th and 9th, between 9:00 am and 18:00 pm

– Tourist Offices of the Algarve Tourism Region – Faro, São Brás, Olhão and Loulé: from the 3rd to the 9th of May, between 9 am and 00 pm
