Castro Marim teaches healthy cooking to families

The first session will be tomorrow

Castro Marim will teach “Family Cooking” in a cycle of online seminars that will be launched tomorrow, March 16, at 15 pm, with a session dedicated to “healthy and tasty starters”.

This will be the first action on the preparation of healthy, balanced meals with the involvement of the whole family, within the scope of the “Castro Marim COM Vida” initiative. These dishes will be made “with Mediterranean products” and have the gastronomic signature of the Hotel and Tourism School of VRSA.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, «go to the air the first of a set of three online sessions that will show families (not only parents, but also children) all about healthy eating», according to the Odiana association, which coordinates the project in which this activity is inserted.

The sessions will be “tips for preparing simple, quick, balanced and delicious dishes and/or snacks” and “easily obtainable ingredients available for the wallet of all families”.

The organization highlights the current importance of food, recalling that pandemic mitigation measures entail food constraints for families.

«The interruption of the teaching activity and the confinement changed the routine of the families that are overwhelmed with the challenge of healthy eating», according to the technical team of “Castro Marim COM Vida”.

The aim is “common learning about the preparation of quality family meals and, at the same time, encourage the usual practice of family activities”.

The cycle of sessions is promoted by the technical team of Castro Marim (COM)Vida, in partnership with the Vila Real de Santo António School of Hotel and Tourism. A challenge was also launched for the participation of the Alcoutim municipality's CLDS 4G «Raízes para o Futuro», through the participation of the households of that municipality, with a view to sharing synergies.

This initiative is part of activity 3 «in the Family» of the CLDS 4G project «Castro Marim (COM)Vida», promoted by the Municipality of Castro Marim and coordinated by the Odiana association, co-financed by CRESC Algarve 2020, Portugal 2020 and the European Union, through the European Social Fund.
