Portimonense lost 2-1 to Boavista, in a game counting for the 16th round of the I League, played tonight at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão. The Algarvians were even the first to score, but they allowed the Porto city team to turn around.
Portimão's team started better and rehearsed some attacking moves, but soon the game became more chewed up, with many interruptions, a consequence of the many fouls that were being signaled.
With the progress of the chronometer, Portimonense managed to approach the opposing goal with danger and put themselves in advantage.
In the 37th minute, Ewerton, served by Fabrício, shot a cross from the first and scored a beautiful goal, putting the home team to win 1-0.
Boavista reacted and had to score on the whistle for the end of the 1st part, the second time they managed to get close to the goal of the Algarve.
At 45 minutes, Alberth Elis took advantage of a ball forward defended by Ricardo Ferreira and tied the game.
Perhaps driven by the late goal, in the first half, Boavista started better in the second half and were looking for the second goal.
The team from Porto insisted, but the defense of Portimonense was arriving for the orders. Regarding the attack, the Algarvians showed great difficulties in connecting plays.
And it was following a free-kick that Portimonense once again created danger, with Bruno Moreira deflecting the ball from Léo Jardim, but Nuno Santos cut on the line.
Soon after, on 63 minutes, Paulinho scored, reloading a shot by Angél Gomes, which hit the iron.
Paulo Sérgio moved the team, trying to change the fortunes of the Algarve, but the result remained until the end.
With this result, Portimonense remains in 14th place, with 15 points, but with the condition, when 16 rounds of the I League are played.
