There are only 6 new cases in the Algarve, but 585 across the country

Data from the epidemiological bulletin this Thursday, September 10rd

The Algarve registers this Thursday, 10th of September, 6 more confirmed cases of Covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), which has just been released.

Thus, the Algarve region now has a total of 1192 confirmed cases, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the neighboring region of Alentejo, the number of new cases also decreased compared to yesterday, with 15 more new infections being confirmed today. The total in Alentejo is now 1 cases, in accumulated numbers.

More worrying are the numbers at national level: today there are over 585 cases across the country, with the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+ 239) and the North (+ 268) being responsible for the vast majority of new infections. Even so, the number of new cases is lower than yesterday.

These are followed by the regions of Centro (5094, plus 50), Algarve (1192, plus 6), Alentejo (1036, plus 15), Azores (229, plus 1) and Madeira (180, plus 6).

On the other hand, there were 157 more recovered, which means that, in all, there were already 43441 people to be cured of the disease.

Because there is a large addition of new cases and few recoveries, the number of active cases also continues to grow. Today there are 425 more than yesterday, for a total of 16833.

The 3 deaths that are to be registered today all took place in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.

Also the number of people admitted to hospitals across the country grew to 406, 15 more than in the DGS bulletin yesterday. Of these, 57 are in the intensive care unit (plus 5).

There are currently 35.181 people in surveillance contact, 30 more than yesterday.
