In November, Teatro das Figuras will invest in the areas of music, opera, dance and educational services. One of the highlights of the program is the concert by Jorge Palma, on Saturday, the 2nd, which will be one of the last opportunities to watch the show Expresso de Autumn.
On the 8th, there is more music with Vitor Kley, one of the greatest contemporary artists of Brazilian pop, author of themes such as O Sol, Morena and Adrenalizou.
On the 17th, the Zheijang Symphony Orchestra (China) made its debut at the IV International Piano Festival of the Algarve, performing the concerto for piano and orchestra nr. 2 by Rachmaninoff, and the Suite das Descobertas, by Armando Mota.
La Traviata, with music by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on “A Dama das Camelias” by Alexandre Dumas (son), brings the opera to Teatro das Figuras on November 5th. Part of Verdi's best-known operatic triad, with Rigoletto and The Troubadour, La Traviata is his 19th opera, written at the age of 39, and premiered at the Teatro La Fenice, in Venice, in 1853.
Classical ballet also returns to the Teatro das Figuras with a “masterpiece”, “O Lago dos Swans”, performed by the Russian Classical Ballet company, on the 26th and 27th of November.
Teatro das Figuras also opens its doors to ideas and words. On the 6th of November, in another Ideas on Stage, there will be a reflection on Europe and the perspective of those who see it “from the outside”. On the 13th of November, another session of Palavras à Solta takes place, which analyzes the classic Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.
Children's cinema, workshops for children and families «are once again central in the provision of the educational service, in November», highlights Teatro das Figuras.
This Sunday, the 3rd, takes place the first Catalua – A musical story for babies and, between 21 and 23 November, the Teatro das Figuras hosts Madagascar – Uma Aventura Musical, a stage staging of the DreamWorks animated film «capable of engaging all the family".
The month ends with the last concert of the Moçoilas – Artista Figuras 2019 initiative, on the 30th. «The sounds of the Algarve mountains join those of the lands of Mirando do Douro, with an invitation to the collective Galandum Galundaina, in a meeting that promises to “double the “map” of the country's musical heritage”, concludes Teatro das Figuras.
