Nelson Conceição and guests perform at the Bienal Ibérica de Loulé

Loulé hosts this year, for the first time, the Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage

The prestigious accordionist Nelson Conceição will give an unprecedented concert, with guests, this Friday, October 11th, from 21 pm, at the Auditorium of the Solar da Música Nova, in Loulé, as part of the Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage.

The show will feature several special guests: Petro Moroi (clarinet and saxophones) and Pedro Branco (percussions) – elements of the Banda Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva –, Paulo Machado (bass), Todd Sheldrick (horn) and Cristina Paulo (vocals).

Thus, for the show that closes the first day of the Bienal, Cine-Teatro Louletano placed an order with Nelson Conceição to join an ensemble of the Banda Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva and some guests.

This, guarantees the Câmara de Loulé, will be «a contagious fusion that revisits musical Portugal, covering different territories ranging from fado to Alentejo sing, from jazz to traditional music, always with a contemporary look».

Nelson Conceição, who debuted his album “Descobrindo-me” on this stage in Loulé in March of this year, was born in Bordeira, a town full of great accordion players.

It has developed a work of recognized quality, with more than 100 awards obtained through its students, which is added to the collection and recovery of the intangible heritage related to its ancestors.

The prestigious performer is the coordinator of the project “Terra de Accordeão” and has even recorded most of the great national names of the accordion in his studio, without forgetting his deep collaboration in traditions such as the Charolas. He has been an integral part of projects from different fields and musical contexts, whether in the most popular area such as “Moças Nagragadas” or in a more avant-garde aspect such as the “Mito Algarvio Ensemble – Cyneticum”, under the direction of João Frade.

The concert lasts approximately 75 minutes and is aimed at people over 6 years old.

Tickets cost 5 euros per person, with no discounts applicable. Capacity is limited. Anyone who wants to buy tickets can do so here

Also within the scope of the Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage, there will be a concert by Rão Kyao, but on Saturday.
