Loulé installs stations for electric vehicles «from the coast to the mountains»

The idea is to have at least one post in each of the parishes by 2020

Loulé is going to create a network of charging stations for electric vehicles "from the coast to the mountains, with at least one of these equipments being planned in each of the parishes of this municipality," announced the Loulé Chamber.

“We currently have 12 stations and we will reach 2020 in 18. Thus, what is one of our goals is fulfilled: to disseminate as much as possible charging stations for electric vehicles. And no parish will be left out”, said yesterday Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, at the inauguration ceremony of two of these posts, in Quinta do Lago and Quarteira.

The municipality of Loulé is even willing to take its effort even further, bearing in mind that «the supply of manufacturers of the various brands in the automotive sector is increasing», which leads to «a growing demand for electric vehicles and, therefore, municipalities have to adapt”.

For now, there are two new service stations in this “green” network in Loulé, one in the Shopping Center Buganvília, in Quinta do Lago, and the other in Largo das Cortes Reais, in Quarteira, both from the Mobi.E network. existing throughout the country.

These « terminals are semi-rapid charging with 22kW “Mennekes” type sockets. The existence of these two sockets allows charging two vehicles simultaneously, from 0% to 80% of the battery in less than 30 minutes, subject to the characteristics of the vehicle to be charged».

"To use the equipment, an electric mobility card is required, which must be requested on the official website of Mobi.E," added the Chamber.

The network of charging stations for electric vehicles in Loulé already has stations in Vale do Lobo (Almancil parish), Vilamoura (Quarteira parish) and Loulé (S. Sebastião parish).

There is also a station available on Av. José da Costa Mealha, in the heart of the city of Loulé (S. Clemente parish), an artery that is currently undergoing repairs.

In the future, similar equipment will be created at Av. José dos Santos Farias and Rua Cristóvão Pires Norte (Almancil parish), Av. 25 de Abril (Alte parish), Rua do Montinho (Ameixial parish), André Jordan (Ameixial parish), Av. Boliqueime), Av. Laginha Serafim, Rua Cónego Clemente Brito Pinto and Rua Drª Laura Ayres (Parish of S. Clemente), Quinta do Romão and in the parking lot next to Av. Francisco Sá Carneiro (Parish of Quarteira), Fundação Manuel Viegas Guerreiro ( União de Freguesias Querença, Tôr and Benafim), Rua Manuel Dourado Eusébio and the old fuel station of Barranco-do-Velho (parish of Salir).

Also in the Loulé Car Park, 4 slow charging stations and 2 semi-rapid charging stations will be created, which will be free of charge for users.
