Ilha de Tavira receives a sculpture that is also an ecopoint [with photos]

Sculpture was offered by artist Carlos de Oliveira Correia

It is a work of art and, at the same time, a plastic packaging warehouse. Taviraverde installed a large-scale fish-shaped metal net sculpture on Tavira Island, a work offered to the municipal company in Tavira by the sculptor Carlos de Oliveira Correia and which was designed to deposit plastics.

The sculpture was installed next to the beach access walkway, existing in the restoration area, «and aims to raise awareness of the problem of plastic in people's daily lives», according to Taviraverde.

Now it is necessary to give a name to the sculpture, which is also an ecopoint. For this, a challenge was launched to all schools and entities in the municipality, to name the piece.

« Recycling has to be, more and more, a concern for all of us. All together, we create the environment and prepare the future for future generations», concluded Taviraverde.
