Festival F breaks records in advance ticket sales

There is a greater demand for tickets on the 6th, when the band Ornatos Violeta will give the last concert of the special tour that is being held

More tickets sold in advance than in previous years and demand from North to South of the country as well as neighboring Spain. Festival F brings the Faro great names in Portuguese music, between the 5th and 7th of September, and there were many who did not want to wait and guaranteed tickets for the event right away.

Until yesterday, Wednesday, «more than 50% of the tickets» had already been sold, mostly general passes, for the three days, revealed Paulo Santos, vice-president of the Chamber of Faro and coordinator of Festival F, at a press conference that served to present the event's complementary program.

Many of these tickets were sold during the period when the ticket price for the three days was much more affordable. Until August 12th, the festival ticket cost 30 euros. At this time and until the date of the festival, it costs 45 euros.

“These numbers allow us to have good prospects when it comes to ticket sales. On the other hand, we also noticed a strong demand outside the Algarve, from cities like Braga, Porto, Viseu, Coimbra and Lisbon. There are many people asking us for information about the city and where to stay», said Paulo Santos.

In addition to the three-day passes, there is a date that is arousing special interest, September 6, the last opportunity to see Ornatos Violeta perform, who will be at F for the 20th anniversary of the edition of the album “O Monstro Needs Friends” .

This Portuguese band is just one of the many that will compose the musical poster, that had already been announced before. Amor Electro, Ana Bacalhau, António Zambujo, Baile Funk, Capitão Fausto, Carolina Deslandes, David Carreira, Linda Martini, Mayra Andrade, Profjam, RevengeOf The 90's or 9 Miller are other names that are part of the festival's line-up.

A big news in this year's edition of F – together with Glamping at Praia de Faro – it is the opportunity that the public will have to literally embark on special concerts, which will take place aboard the Jamanta vessel, owned by Animaris (Ilha Deserta). This boat, which hosted yesterday's press conference, will become the Stage Formosa and will host intimate concerts, for a maximum of 150 people, by musicians Benjamin (5th), Valter Lobo (6th) and Momo (7th). XNUMX).

But F is a festival that goes beyond music and fits people of all ages. Hence, there is a strong complementary offer, ranging from stand up comedy ao ,, going through gatherings, exhibitions, new circus and workshops for the younger audience.

«From the beginning, the F had two main guidelines. One of them was to make a Portuguese music festival, with what is ours – which is not easy. The other was to bring people of all ages to the F and not just Faro, although this festival is made with Farenses in mind. We wanted to catch people of all age groups and families and I think we were able to achieve this goal», considered the president of the Chamber of Faro Rogério Bacalhau, speaking to the Sul Informação, aside from the presentation of the complementary schedule of the F.

“What we try, mainly because of the families and the public that visits us, is to provide different experiences for people and that this is not an exclusively music festival. The idea is to surprise people with all the dynamics involved in the event, from Vila-Adentro, to Ria Formosa and all this nature», summarized, in turn, Gil Silva, director of Teatro das Figuras, which organizes the F.

The success of some of this offer, namely the stand up comedy, forced, moreover, a rearrangement of the stages. This year, the mood will shift from Associação de Músicos, in the former Fábrica da Cerveja, to the Castelo stage.

«We started to feel that the Musicians Stage was too small for the demand that the stand up it already had. On the other hand, the Associação de Músicos also showed interest in curating its own stage, more focused on jazz music and other styles that they consider more convenient», explained Gil Silva.

In this way, the mood moves to the Castle, which has «a bigger space and allows the public to be more comfortable».

In 2019, they will pass in Faro the humorists Francisco Menezes, João Seabra, Jorge Picoto, Joana Santos and Luís Brito Rocha (5th), Hugo Sousa, Jel, Pedro Neves, Rúben Branco, Manuel Rosa and Dora Bela (6) and GilmárioVemba, Miguel 7 Estacas, Miguel Lambertini and Luana do Bem (7). Pedro Luzindo will be the presenter.

The news, when it comes to the stages, does not stop there. «We also took advantage of the factory space, next to the Associação dos Músicos, which provides a very beautiful stage. On the Arco stage, we're going to have a space chill out, with Tibetan congas and a series of more contemplative concerts, to enjoy all this nature».

Paulo Santos also made a point of talking about the Glamping offer that will be installed next to the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro. Here, "tents for two people, which will cost 65 euros per person, per night, and tents for five people, at 45 euros per head" will be made available. These values include the round trip, by boat, between the beach and Vila-Adentro, where the F.
