One Japanese and three Brazilians are "valuable" reinforcements for Portimonense

Jackson Martínez's permanence remains one of the doubts for the next season

There are four "valuable players", who arrived to "further enrich the squad", guarantees Rodiney Sampaio, president of the SAD of Portimonense. Japanese Koki Anzai and Brazilians Luquinha, Rômulo and Felipe, all ex-Londrina, were officially presented today as reinforcements of the Algarve team, at a press conference where the club's main sponsor, also from Japan, was not lacking.

And there is no lack of ambition, for the reinforcements of the Portimão club. Rômulo, a 23-year-old, says he has found a squad "with a lot of quality", which is "sure that it will have a season of great quality and that it will fight for Europe".

This last part, the fight for one of the top places in the league table of the I League, is «a personal dream», but one that the Brazilian player believes is shared by his teammates.

From the country of Sol Rising, more precisely from Kashima Antlers, another player arrives, Anzai, 24, to try to follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Shoya Nakajima, with whom he played «since he was a child» and who he knows well.

Perhaps because of this reference, the Japanese full-back, who can play either on the right or on the left, assures that he «always wanted to come here to Portugal to play».

Filipe, another defender, is 20 years old and guarantees that «the adaptation to European football is being good». «My dream is to grow professionally in Portimonense».

The youngest player on the lot coming from the Brazilian club Londrina is Luquinha, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also "act as a winger".

This has been, moreover, a player to whom António Folha has given many minutes, in this pre-season, something that the young man «already expected. I'm trying to seize the opportunity," he assured.

At a time when the Portimonense squad is beginning to be defined, Rodiney Sampaio says that "there are still no developments in the Jackson Martinez file", whose stay in Portimão is not certain.

One certainty is the continuity of the sponsorship of Ceremony, whose boss Tsukasa Shiga was in Portimão today and sat next to Rodiney Sampaio and Koki, who already inspires merchandising of the club, in this case, a teddy bear with the insignia of Portimonense.
