The Alcoutim Council has decentralized competences in the four Parish Councils of the municipality, new tasks that will be accompanied by the respective financial package, which will exceed, in total, 64 thousand euros.
This amount is intended, «essentially, for the organization of festivities, cultural and sporting activities and for the carrying out of various works and acquisitions», according to the Alcoutim Chamber.
The Parish Councils are, in this way, endowed with «the necessary means for the provision of a higher quality public service, in the different aspects, thus contributing to the approximation of the decision-making power of the populations, to the promotion of social and territorial cohesion and for the improvement of citizens' living conditions”.
«The delegation of powers is a legal instrument of crucial importance, as it allows, especially in the context of the provision of direct support services to the local community, a more effective resolution of situations and a faster response given the greater proximity of the Boards of Parish with the populations», reinforced the Alcouteneja Chamber.
