Costa Doiro Tournament brings future handball stars to Lagos

Games will occupy all four sports halls in the city for a week

The 28th Costa Doiro Tournament takes place from June 30th to July 7th, in Lagos, and will bring together close to 700 young handball players. 

This is a male and female competition, in which young people aged between 9 and 17 will participate.

The athletes will be distributed among 50 teams from 25 clubs. In addition to clubs from the continent, there will be four clubs from Madeira and clubs from Canada, Spain and Austria.

This is, according to the organization, the «largest participation ever in terms of athletes and officials».

There will also be the participation of six pairs of foreign referees selected by the EHF (Europeen Handball Federation) and about 10 national pairs selected by the Refereeing Council.

The games will occupy all four sports halls in the city for a week.
