Summer workshops promote the interest of children in Albufeira in History

Participation is free

Helping to foster children's interest in historical matters and local memories is the main objective of a series of creative workshops that take place from 29th July to 9th August, at the Albufeira Historical Archive.

And, while they are surprised by the documents and images, children between 8 and 12 years old can attend, from Monday to Friday, various workshops.

Thus, on Mondays there is a Pottery workshop and an activity that allows them to get to know the Historical Archive better, called “Quiz in the Archive: Learning and Playing”.

On Tuesdays, the younger ones have drawings with Urban Sketchers, “Scratching the Heritage” and even a foray into sounds, through the activity “Awakening emotions through music”. The creative writing honors the centenary of the birth of poet Sophia de Mello Breyner and fills every Wednesday.

Thursday is the day for the painting studio and for exploring the Foral de Albufeira, which already has 515 years of history. The last day of the week (Friday) promises to cause great excitement with the New Photography Workshop.

The activities will take place in two periods: from the 29th of July to the 2nd of August and from the 5th to the 9th of August. For more information and inscriptions, those interested should contact the Educational Service of the Historical Archive through the email [email protected].

Registration is free.
