The fado singer Mariza will give a concert on June 16, at 22 pm, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense, as part of the celebrations of the Festas da Cidade de Olhão.
The Municipality has prepared a set of initiatives that begin on June 12, with the historical recreation “The Day in which Olhão faced Napoleon”. This dramatization of the revolt against the French begins in Moncarapacho, and passes through Pechão, Fuseta and Quelfes.
The route ends at the end of the afternoon of the 12th, in the city, when the people from Olho are incited to revolt.
On the 13th of June, the Quelfes Bridge is one of the scenarios for the continuation of this dramatization, also followed by scenes in Fonte Velha, in Pechão, and next to Caique Bom Sucesso, on the Olhão Riverfront.
The Municipality invites people from Olho who want to join this initiative, integrating the show as extra actors. To do so, they must appear on the 11th, at 19 pm, at the Sociedade Recreativa Progresso Olhanense.
The Pé na Terra Festival, which takes place between the 13th and 16th of June, at the Frente Ribeirinha da Fuzeta, is another of the initiatives included in the 16th of June festivities.
Created with the aim of promoting the different cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries, it invests mainly in music and dance. In this edition, under the theme Planeta Vénus, the participation of the artists Mart'nália or Roberta Espinosa stands out, as well as the presentation of the project Se o Fado Virasse Samba.

On the 16th, the official ceremonies begin at 9:30 am, with the raising of flags in front of the Town Hall, followed by a tribute to the heroes of the 1808 restoration, in Praça da Restauração. Before the solemn commemorative session of the City Day, at 12:00 in the Salão Nobre, there will be a visit to the works in progress in the municipality.
The day ends with a concert by the fado singer Mariza, at 22 pm, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense. Moce Mó and Ricky B, Rafael Sousa, Mariana Barnabé and Luís Guilherme also pass on this stage, on the night of June 00th, starting at 14 pm, on June 22th, while the night of Moto Convívio de Olhão, on June 00th, includes performances by Outsiders, Escolinha do Helder, Fábio Lagarto and DJ Westvil.
