Teatro das Figuras opens an exhibition of the Serralves Foundation and hosts Jazz concerts in May

Program also includes FIMA, theater and comedy

While “Os Dias do Jazz” continues, in May, the Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, inaugurates an exhibition with the Serralves Foundation, proposes numerous activities for younger people, hosts a theater premiere and another of stand up comedy and it will also be the stage for the closing concert of the Algarve International Music Festival.

Thus, as part of the days dedicated to Jazz, on May 18th, Bruno Pernadas presents his latest album – “Those Who Throw Objects at the Crocodiles Will be Asked to Retrieve Them” – with full training.

In partnership with the Serralves Foundation, Teatro das Figuras inaugurates this Monday, the 13th, the exhibition “PORTOBELLO”, with photographs by Patrícia Almeida.

Shown from 14th May to 21st December, in the foyer of the Theatre, this exhibition is the result of the photographer's travels to the Algarve, between 2006 and 2007, with the objective of recording the experiences of tourists who, during the summer period, flock to it en masse. region.

 

As a cultural center of reference, Teatro das Figuras also marks the month of May with Educational Service activities and another night of comedy: on the 19th, actions for children and families take place, with music and cinema, and on the 21th 22 and 2, the theater occupies the stage with “La Vie en Rose”, a show that results from the 2018nd edition of the Actor Training Workshop, a long-term training action that began in November XNUMX.

On the 23rd, Guilherme Duarte presents his new solo from stand up comedy, "Just passing through".

May comes to an end with the closing concert of the 34th edition of the Algarve International Music Festival (FIMA), “Música e Viagens”, at Teatro das Figuras.

The Orquestra Clássica do Sul, conducted by conductor Rui Pinheiro, travels through the repertoire of CM Weber, Mozart and Dvorak in this show, with the participation of soloists Daniel Stabrawa (Poland), on violin, and Máté Szücs (Hungary), on viola .
