Nuno Osório is the first CDU candidate for the Chamber of Castro Marim

The PCP reinforces that PSD and PS are "responsible for the situation reached"

Nuno Osório, 36, will be the CDU's first candidate for the Castro Marim City Council, announced the Algarvian PCP.

The communists consider, in a statement, that “the resignation of PSD elected representatives in the Castro Marim City Council, precipitating the holding of mid-term elections in this municipality it is the confirmation of the incapacity revealed, either by the PSD or by the PS, to direct the destinies of the municipality».

The PCP reinforces that the PSD and PS are "responsible for the situation that was reached", "whether for the PSD's inability to respect the electoral results and accept that it did not have an absolute majority to impose its will, or for the option of the PS, of to ally itself with a dissident PSD candidacy in 2017, with the objective of paralyzing the autarchy».

For this reason, the communists argue, “it is on the shoulders of these political forces that the responsibility for the degradation of the functioning of the organs, for the reduction of the municipality's capacity for intervention, for the accumulation of problems such as that which recently occurred in the Novbaesuris municipal company, rests, of the lack of work and initiative that characterizes this mandate».

It is within this framework that the PCP will intervene in the mid-term elections for the City Council within the framework of the CDU, to "affirm an alternative project for the municipality".

Its candidate Nuno Osório is a native of Lisbon and a member of the PCP. «Like so many Portuguese people today, he works in the trade sector in Ayamonte».

Nuno Osório is an “actor by training, he has done theatre, advertising, television series and cinema. He adapted and wrote plays for various age groups. He gave classes in Theatrical Expression».

When he arrived in the Algarve, he worked in commerce and it was as a delegate and union leader that he deepened his political intervention.

He was a member of the PCP's Castro Marim Council, participated in CDU lists in previous elections in the Castro Marim council.

He was part of the commission of users in defense of public services in Castro Marim that took to the Assembly of the Republic, a petition that demanded the reopening of health centers and against the closure of public services. He was an association leader and member of a student association.

Early elections in Castro Marim will be held on June 2nd, according to an announcement made by Carlos Miguel, Secretary of State for Local Authorities.

O office which marks the date of the elections was published on March 15, in Diário da República.
