UAlg takes the “Milage Learn+” application to the Lisbon Web Summit

“Milage Learn+” is an application based on an “innovative and motivating pedagogical method, which encourages autonomous learning”

The University of Algarve will present the “Milage Learn+” platform at the Web Summit 2018, which started this Monday and will run until Thursday, November 8th, in Lisbon.

The Algarve Academy will be present at this international event, where more than 70 thousand visitors are expected, to make known this application, developed by professor Mauro Figueiredo, "which is already being used by teachers and students in Portugal, Spain, Norway and Turkey," according to UAlg.

«Initially developed for the teaching of mathematics, this application already covers other subjects, through an innovative and motivating pedagogical method, which stimulates autonomous learning. With the support of the General Directorate of Education, in Portugal the app “Milage Aprender+” is being used in all schools in the country”, added the Algarve university.

The application is also being used to support students of the Escolhas program, «whose mission is to promote the social inclusion of children and young people from vulnerable socio-economic backgrounds, aiming at equal opportunities and the reinforcement of social cohesion», as part of a partnership between UAlg and the High Commission for Migration.

«It is essential that we believe that success is possible for everyone, in a more democratic and inclusive school. Today there are more than 10 000 students and teachers using the platform, tomorrow we will be more than 1 million», believes Mauro Figueiredo, responsible for the development of the “Milage Aprender+” platform.
