Tomi will teach Portuguese expressions to foreigners visiting the Algarve

Expressions can be suggested by sending an email

The Tomi/Mop network has a new feature that will teach expressions in Portuguese to foreigners visiting the Algarve. The aim is to make the arrival in the region “even more interactive”.

According to Tomi World, the company responsible for these urban information equipment, «the new functions reinforce TOMI's position as the best host and friend of the city, using its multimedia features to reach the public in a creative way».

From now on, «when users select a foreign language, TOMI welcomes the city and teaches three expressions in Portuguese through the text-to-speech functionality. The idea is to increase engagement between visitors and cities, providing them with innovative interactive street experiences».

The expressions in Portuguese will vary from city to city, since «it is possible to send suggestions from the public to include more local expressions that they want to see TOMI teach tourists».

“From a co-creation perspective, the goal is to make the experience with the city more local and personalized, giving the locals their say and promoting the uniqueness of each city,” explains Tomi World.

Suggestions can be sent to [email protected]
