Registrations have already opened for the “Paderne Medieval”

A trip to the past is «made through the recreation of the medieval market» and not only

Registration has already opened for exhibitors who want to participate in the “Paderne Medieval”, an event that takes place from December 29th to January 1st, 2019 and promises to “attract the best of people” to the village in the municipality of Albufeira.

«The trip to the past is made through the recreation of the medieval market that extends along the narrow alleys of the parish, invaded for four days by smells and flavors from the excellent gastronomic delicacies, the representation of arts and crafts and various performances alluding to the season», says the Council of Albufeira.

The highlight of the event is set for the first day of 2019 with a historic procession that portrays the ceremony of handing over the Donation Letter from Paderne Castle, by D. Dinis, to the Order of Avis.

Public and private entities from the parish of Paderne (primarily) and from the rest of the municipality can participate as exhibitors. The organization also foresees the possibility of accepting entries from exhibitors from outside the municipality, in case all available spaces are not occupied.

Registration is already taking place at the Parish Council of Paderne, for local residents, and at the Division of Tourism and Economic and Cultural Development, on the 3rd floor of the Paços do Concelho building, for other people.

Registration must be made in a specific form, which will be accompanied by photographs of the products or services to be sold at the event.

The amount to be charged to exhibitors varies depending on whether it is participation in a tent, which will be 3,5 euros per day per square meter, 40 euros if it is in a stall for exhibition of crafts or 45 euros for taverns owned by the exhibitors, with maximum dimensions of 3 by 3 meters.

Those who use taverns provided by the organization pay 90 euros.

The “Paderne Medieval” is an initiative carried out by the Municipality of Albufeira, in partnership with the Parish Council of Paderne and the town's Casa do Povo.
