Thousands of scouts, including young people from six groups in the Algarve, will participate in the National Camp (ACNAC) of the Portuguese Scout Association (AEP), which takes place between 29 July and 4 August at Barosa, Leiria. The 25th edition of this event, which takes place every four years, will promote multiculturalism and the celebration of difference.

Scout groups from all over the country, as well as 200 elements from other countries, namely Israel, São Tomé, Ukraine, France, Belgium and Luxembourg, will participate in a meeting that «intends to promote respect for difference, both social and ethnic, as well as religious”, according to the AEP.

the district of Faro he will also be represented, through groups 6 from Olhão, 197 Quelfes, 60 from Vila Real de Santo António, 77 from Faro, 166 Montenegro and 238 from Lagoa.

The motto “The difference is me” aims to “transmit the importance and richness of multicultural environments, in personal development, and global awareness, with local action. The young scouts, in addition to the usual adventures such as hiking, extreme sports, water sports, among others, will also do community work and carry out actions to clean up the Liz River and recover graffiti heritage».
