Fire in the Serra de Monchique is being fought by 7 aerial means

Seven air assets and nearly 180 firefighters are already involved in fighting the flames

A fire that broke out this afternoon, at 15:31 pm, in Portela do Vento, in the Serra de Monchique, is being fought by 7 aerial means, including helicopters and planes.

The firefighting also involved 179 workers from various corporations in the Algarve, supported by 51 vehicles, in addition to seven aerial means, according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.
