The Biker Concentration of Faro, the Alameda Beer Fest or Feira da Serra, in São Brás de Alportel, are just some of the events that liven up the month of July in the Algarve. 

Musical shows are highlighted in the July edition of the «Guia do Algarve», a publication that brings together various events.

From the 5th of July to the 2nd of August, the Castle of Silves welcomes every Thursday at the end of the day. world music concert – Sunset Secrets – Quinta do Castelo-, exploring various sounds from the Mediterranean. The Palácio da Galeria Park in Tavira hosts a unique concert by Noa, the most important international singer in Israel, and Teresa Salgueiro, who made herself known through Madredeus.

During the month of July, the various musical styles echo throughout the Algarve, with concerts Jazz at Palácio (19th to 21st) and Fado concerts at Coreto (17th and 31st) in Tavira, Classical Music with Consórcio Dolce, on 7th July, and Salsa with the Banda Cuba Libre in São Brás de Alportel (14th), the Philharmonic Band Festival in Castro Marim, among many others.

The Portuguese Guitar Recital will also be held daily (except Fridays and Saturdays) at the Arco da Vila Interpretive Center, at the Tourism Office of Faro.

Festivals are always an important milestone in the Algarve's summer schedule. The Garden of Alameda João de Deus in Faro it hosts, between July 5th and 7th, the Alameda Beer Fest, where it will be possible to taste around 200 beers while watching musical shows and other artistic performances.

Yes, Albufeira promotes the Al-buhera Festival, which runs from the 25th to the 29th of July, with music, street entertainment and a handicraft exhibition.

From the 26th of July to the 5th of August, the Algarve's gastronomy will be highlighted at the Festa da Ria Formosa, where you can enjoy the best seafood from the Ria Formosa and other local specialties, accompanied by daily entertainment by the best regional artists.

From the 12th to the 15th of July, Lagos also organizes the inLagos Street Food Fest and Castro Marim the International Caracol Festival (20th to 22nd).

This month, several dance performances are also planned, namely the end of the school year performance of the Regional Dance Conservatory of the Algarve Maria Campina that takes to the stage on the 8th of July, at Teatro das Figuras de Faro, as well as the Final Gala of the XIII Dance Workshop on display at the Municipal Auditorium of Albufeira on the 14th of July.

As for the XVIII National Folklore Festival, it takes place in the riverside area of ​​Portimão on the 14th of July. There is also the Final Gala of the XVIII Algarve International Dance Summer School scheduled for 29 July, at Teatro das Figuras in Faro.

Sport is king in the Algarve and promises to motivate exciting moments. From the 6th to the 8th of July, the tracks of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve receive the 24H Endurance Series, emblematic tests of resistance at the wheel that will not leave anyone indifferent. In Faro, from the 5th to the 7th of July, the 26th 2018 Volta ao Algarve à Vela and, from the 21st to the 29th of July, the National Free Skating Championship.

The Praça 1º de Maio de Castro Marim will be the setting for the Night Endurance Test “Por Terras de Salmarim” by BTT (7th July). Not to be missed is another icon of the programming: the Algarve Classic Cars, which is now in its 26th edition, and which will tour several Algarve municipalities.

With regard to Fairs and Markets, the 27th Feira da Serra 2018, which takes place from the 26th to the 29th of July in São Brás de Alportel, stands out. During the event, whose theme this year is the carob, typical sounds, knowledge and flavors of Serra do Caldeirão will be revealed.

Thinking about the sweetest, Lagoa promotes, from the 18th to the 22nd of July, the Mostra do Doce Conventual; while Lagos becomes the artistic capital of the Algarve's sweets, with the organization of the Arte Doce Contest Fair on the last weekend of the month.

Tavira also hosts the Wine Fair: Tavira for tastings, promoted by Rotas dos Vinhos do Algarve (from 13 to 15) and, from 20 to 22 July, it's Portimão's turn to dedicate itself to the best nectars in the region with the event Portimão Wine Tasting, which will take place at Fortaleza Santa Catarina.

From the 19th to the 22nd of July, the International Motorbike Concentration of Faro, one of the biggest and most mythical concentrations of motorcyclists in all of Europe, which counts every year with thousands of national and international motorcyclists.

The FIESA festival, the largest city of sand sculptures, is already an unavoidable landmark in the Algarve and, for the delight of young and old, it will be open until November in Pêra.

From the 5th to the 8th of July, Lagoa organizes the 5th Culture Market… À Luz das Velas, a unique cultural event in Portugal, which this year has the African continent as its theme, and where, every day, thousands of candles will go form 40 symbols referring to Africa.

On July 7th, Teatro das Figuras presents RAUL – A Homage to Solnado show, which revisits the most hilarious monologues by Raul Solnado, voiced by Telmo Ramalho.

The play “A Grande Ressaca” with representation by Carlos Cunha will be on display from 4th to 7th July at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium. Tavira still promotes XIV “Street Scenes” – International Festival of Theater and Arts in Rua de Tavira, which takes place during the first two weeks of the month, with a variety of shows from different origins.

In July, around two dozen exhibitions of photographs, pottery, painting and sculpture will be on display in the Algarve, with emphasis on the first traveling exhibition of the “La Caixa” Foundation, the Traveling Exhibition “The Forest” – Much more than Madeira, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable management of this ecosystem. It will be possible to visit the exhibition in the riverside area of ​​Portimão, from the 12th of July to the 28th of Aosto.
