The CVA – Algarve Wine Commission distributed the Algarve Wine Region Producers' Map at the Turismo do Algarve stand, at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, on the 28th of February. This was the first map distribution action, which was presented at the end of 2017.
According to the CVA, this map "is an important instrument to promote wine tourism and facilitate access to wineries, farms and visiting spaces for producers in the Algarve."
The Map of the Wine Region has a print run of 10 copies and will be distributed «in various places in the region linked to the sector and tourism promotion, constituting a useful tool for interested parties to visit the wineries and respective vineyards, how to enjoy the services associates (shop, catering, etc.)», adds the CVA.
In this way, the producers «monetize their businesses and their respective spaces, as most of them have excellent conditions for hosting events, tourists or local groups».
Carlos Gracias, president of the CVA, explains that "the map contains 34 producers spread over eight municipalities, including in addition to the contacts, the GPS coordinates and available valences, with access to online information being streamlined with the availability of QR codes".
On the other hand, Desidério Silva, president of RTA, considers that «it is initiatives like these that help to provide a more pleasant experience for visitors to the Algarve, especially in the field of wine tourism, which is growing in the region, and that is due to this also to the quality of the wines and the work of its economic agents».
The Wine Map is also accessible online here and was developed in partnership with the company Plotbiz, which has already published other maps of the Algarve. For Artur Gonçalves, CEO of the company, the great asset of the product is that it «puts the Algarve's producers on the map, making it possible for them to be found in a simple and expeditious way».
