The Algarve Wine Commission will launch a map where it will be possible to find all registered wine producers in the Algarve, with their respective contacts, GPS coordinates of each one of them and the valences available to visitors.
In addition to this map, Carlos Gracias, president of CVA, revealed at a wine and delicacy tasting event made in Algarve, which marked the day of São Martinho (November 11th) and the European Wine Tourism Day (12th), which will also launch a mobile application «which will allow consumers to access specific information about the region, and also locate the nearest point of sale, or restaurant, with Algarve wine on the shelf or on the menu».
For CVA, «in an increasingly accentuated number of visitors to the Algarve, it becomes necessary to be equipped with tools that facilitate economic agents and tour operators to access and contact the more than 30 Algarve producers operating in the region».
The objective is “to be able not only to visit the wineries and their respective vineyards, but also to enjoy the associated services (shop, catering, etc.) which are also becoming a greater investment for producers, who in this way make their businesses and their spaces profitable, as many of them have excellent conditions for receiving events, tourists or local groups».
The map, which will be printed, will allow, «through simple mechanisms such as the introduction of QR codes for each producer record», to access «relevant online information without needing to know and type the respective link».
According to CVA, "the various producers present, expressed their interest in collaborating in the dissemination of their services and were pleased with CVA's initiative, which makes it possible to increase their visibility, especially for those who already have an associated wine tourism branch."
The Algarve Wine Region Map is developed by CVA in partnership with Plotbiz, «the team is finalizing the last details to proceed with the free distribution to economic agents and the general public, of the approximately ten thousand copies to be produced by the end of the year'.
