The Leroy Merlin store in Loulé, located next to Mar Shopping, opens this Friday, December 15, at 8:00 am, but the day before, there was time for a first visit, reserved for guests, while some final touches were still being given. . There are 10 thousand square meters of total area, with 37 thousand products that promise to bring «numerous solutions» to the homes of the Algarve.
The words are from Karine Blaise, Managing Director of Leroy Merlin Portugal. The store's offer (the 12th of the brand in the country and the second in the Algarve) will be «wide and diversified», he guaranteed.
The space has products in the areas of DIY, construction, decoration, bathroom and kitchen and garden. Simão Luz, from the Algarve, is the store's director and said that this opening is the «corollary of a year of work».
For Jorge Neves, regional director of Leroy Merlin, the new store makes the brand “closer to the customers”. «We already had one in Guia, but we thought that the Algarve market had potential for a second store», he considered, speaking to Sul Informação.
The opening of the space generated 150 direct jobs that are "virtually all filled", he added.
The fact of being close to the IKEA store, which has some products similar to those that Leroy Merlin sells, is not seen as an obstacle. "IKEA is a complementary proposition," he assured.
In total, Leroy Merlin Loulé represents an investment in the order of 20 million euros.
