The 11st Technical Journeys of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve (DRCAlg) took place on the 2013th of October, taking stock of the activity carried out from XNUMX to September this year.
Thus, some indicators were presented, such as the evolution of the staff, the total budget and own revenues, the support given (in value and number of associations) and the number of national and foreign visitors to the affected monuments.
This initiative was carried out «under the understanding that the technical sharing between those who work in the same institution allows a better knowledge of the actions in development», says DRCAlg.
“The Conferences contributed to the internal training and construction of the team spirit, the motto of the challenge proposed to the employees”, he adds.
At the event, the projects enrolled in CRESC 2020 were presented, approved: Fortress of Sagres, Castle of Paderne, Portal of the Cathedral of Silves, Roman Ruins of Milreu and Alcalar, and also one of the transversal projects in development - "Lojas com História" .
The achievements made in these years and the dynamics in progress also deserved special mention, considering relevant the change of installations, image and website, the creation of new support standards for Cultural Action and Publishing, the creation of the Maria award Veleda, the Program for the Promotion and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM) and the partnership of Café com Letras, as well as the consecration of the Sagres Promontory as a European Heritage Label and the inscription of “Places of Globalization” in the indicative list of UNESCO applications to World Heritage.
«The presentation and discussion of the sharing of work among peers on the monuments, with works planned and in progress, was a moment of learning and exchange of knowledge, recognized as very positive», says DRCAlg.
«The proposed motto “Culture and Heritage in the Algarve”, values to reinforce and democratize for the Strategic Plan of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve for 2015-2018, was a challenge shared and fulfilled by all», he adds.
In the stage of presentation of proposals for continuous improvement for the action of DRCAlg «questions of a technical and financial nature were raised and debated, recognizing that they are not always able to be known and understood in a broad way».
«The objective of this technical sharing was achieved and considered an asset among speakers and assistants, as it allowed not only to know the work developed with peers, but also the exchange of information that enables a gain in the pursuit of common projects».
The next days were scheduled for the month of December and will have the theme “Dynamization, Action and Cultural Communication”.
The idea is that the Technical Journeys take place, on average, three times a year, the first, each year, dedicated to the organization's management issues, its functioning and budget, and debate on the technical presentation of related matters.
