Shrimps, crabs, clams or oysters once again “invade” Jardim Pescador Olhanense for the 32nd Seafood Festival, to be held from 10 to 15 August. The aim is for the event to be «even stronger than last year», continuing to focus on the combination of gastronomy and entertainment.

For this, what is «the biggest gastronomic event in the South of Portugal», according to António Pina, mayor of Olhão, has concerts by names like Tony Carreira (10th, opening the event), Richie Campbeel (11) , DAMA (12), the farense Diogo Piçarra with Jimmy P, on the 13th, Nélson Freitas (14) and, to close, there will be the Brazilian music by Seu Jorge. All shows start at 23:30.

«If last year we had a good poster, this year is even better», considered António Pina, at the press conference for the presentation of the event, held this Friday, 28 July.

As for the number of visitors, the aim is to have «more affluence than last year, taking advantage of the tourist growth in the county and throughout the Algarve».

The event has a global budget of 550 thousand euros, with the bet to pass "once again" for "the quality of seafood made by those who know". Always based on the «old tradition from Olhano», according to the mayor.

In total, the festival venue will have 9600 square meters, with nine spaces for selling seafood, two for selling alternative seafood food, but also seven places for selling drinks. The craft says “present” with 13 stalls.

After the seafood, whoever wants to, will also have four confectionery sales spaces at their disposal. For the youngest, animation is guaranteed in a Kids Club.

On the 12th, the day of the DAMA concert, there will be a surprise: the cast of the next SIC soap opera “Paixão”, which will be filmed in Olhão, Albufeira and Loulé.

As far as tickets are concerned, there are news. For the first time, there will be a “Festival Ticket” which, for 36 euros for adults and 18 euros for children, allows entry to every day of the event. These tickets are on sale. here

The daily prices are 6 euros on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th, which increases to 9 euros on the 10th and 15th of August. The event is organized by the municipal company Fesnima.
