A 21-year-old young man was arrested with 227 packages of cocaine hidden near his body, last Monday in Almancil, inside an express bus coming from Lisbon.
According to the Public Ministry, the drug, which weighed a total of 54 grams, was ready "to sell to consumers".
The arrest for drug trafficking was carried out by the GNR's Loulé Criminal Investigation Nucleus.
The accused was presented for the first judicial interrogation and was placed in preventive detention.
