Ordem dos Psicólogos brings “Academia” to UAlg students

A session on "I want to be a psychologist: identity and the future", from 11:00 am to 13:00 pm, or another session on "What a psychologist I want to be: challenges and intervention contexts", from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm, are some of the activities of the "OPP Academy" Order of Portuguese Psychologists, to be held on April 18, at Amphitheater -1.B, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Algarve, at Campus of Gambelas.

And if the first session is aimed at 1st year students, which will address issues such as what it is to be a psychologist, what challenges are expected and what the Order is for, the second is aimed at 3rd year students.

This will discuss what is done «in the profession of psychologist», with the right also to «contact with professionals in practice, explore emerging areas of Psychology and reflect on the career», says the NEPSI – AAUAlg (Association's Psychology Students Nucleus Academic at the University of Algarve), co-organizer of the event.

The session “I'm going to be a psychologist: employability and entrepreneurship”, to be held from 16:00 pm to 18:00 pm, is intended for the 5th year (2nd year students of the Masters).

«Are you completing your academic training in Psychology? Is the longed-for world of the job market waiting for you? This is a session to help you find your first professional opportunity, through a first approach to issues of employability, entrepreneurship, market and work and career planning», adds this group of students.

Finally, the last session is called “Teaching and Research in Psychology and the Order of Psychologists: Opportunities for Development”, from 17:00 to 18:30, and is aimed at professors and researchers.

This will be a «space for meeting and sharing between the facilitators of the teaching-learning process and researchers in psychology and the regulatory authority (OPP)», where there will be «identification of needs and opportunities for cooperation for the development of the future of the profession. ».
