The new exhibition of Algar's Environmental Education Vehicle will be able to be seen for the first time tomorrow, Friday, at the Serra de São Brás de Alportel fair. The exhibition “provides a trip to the world of waste and aims to inform and raise awareness of its problems”, according to the Algarve's multi-municipal waste management company.
On the same occasion, Algar's new mascot, the «Cool», will be presented, inspired by the typical Algarve spoonbill bird. The choice of this species is due to the fact that it is an indicator of good environmental quality, as it is very sensitive and does not resist pollution, contamination of the environment and especially water».
The exhibition to be inaugurated will make known «the various processes of waste treatment and recovery, as well as good environmental practices», while alerting «to the importance of recycling in the context of promoting the rational use of natural resources».
«It is worth noting the versatility and interactivity of the exhibition. The vehicle combines education with entertainment, as it is equipped with multimedia games and also offers the experience of a 3D film composed of an animation on the main aspects of the collection, sorting and recovery of the RU (Urban Waste)», added Algar .
The Environmental Education Vehicle will be parked at Sítio dos Curosos, the space at Feira da Serra dedicated to the youngest, and can be visited between 19:00 pm and 1:00 am.
