Second edition of the festival «Os Dias do Jazz» invades stages of Faro

the jazz daysFunkArmónica, Zé Eduardo, Hugo Alves 4tet, Desidério Lázaro, Zé Eduardo & Manuela Lopes, João Sousa & Pedro Branco Quarteto, Carlos Bica & João Paulo Esteves da Silva and Timewheel Group are the big names in music that will be in the second edition of the “Os Dias do Jazz” festival, which invades the stages of Faro from April 30th to May 8th.

The opening of the festival will take place on April 30, International Jazz Day, at 18:30 pm, in the bandstand at Jardim Manuel Bivar, with the performance of FunkArmónica.

On the same day, at 21 pm, at Teatro Lethes, Zé Eduardo will give a lecture on this musical genre, its origin, its history and possible aspects of its practice and teaching.

Hugo Alves official photo by Bruno MoraOn May 1st, at 21:30 pm, the Trumpeter Hugo Alves and his quartet present their new project «Magic Stars», at Teatro das Figuras.

On May 5th (21:30 pm), saxophonist Desidério Lázaro and his unusual together present the show «Subtractive Colors».

Zé Eduardo & Manuela Lopes work at the Ginásio Clube de Faro, on May 6th (21:30 pm).

In the final stretch of the festival and on May 7, at 18:30 pm, João Sousa & Pedro Branco Quarteto presents a concert at the Jardim do Colégio da Nossa Senhora do Alto, which for the first time is associated with this initiative.

On the same day, at 21 pm and at Teatro das Figuras, the renowned Carlos Bica and João Paulo Esteves da Silva present their show, the result of a collaboration of more than a decade.

The festival ends with the performance of Timewheel Group, at 21 pm on May 30, at Club Farense, in Rua de Santo António.

Joao Paulo tapThe program of the «Os Dias do Jazz» festival also includes a masterclass with Carlos Bica and João Paulo Esteves da Silva, which will take place on May 7th, from 14 pm to 00 pm, at Teatro das Figuras. Registration costs 17 euros.

This second edition of the festival is promoted by the Municipality of Faro, in co-production with Teatro das Figuras, Teatro Lethes, Club Farense, Ginásio Clube de Faro and the College of Nossa Senhora do Alto, and with the support of Fnac.

The prices of the shows vary between 5 and 10 euros, and the concerts in the Bandstand in Jardim Bivar and in the Jardim do Colégio da Nossa Senhora do Alto have free admission. Tickets will be available through the Online ticketing platform and in the usual places.
