Expanding the water distribution network to the Caramujeira area, as well as reducing water elevation costs, are the objectives of the contract for "Execution of Alporchinhos-Porches Elevating Station and Elevating Conduit", whose public tender was opened to 5 of April by the Municipality of Lagoa.
The investment is expected to cost around 500 thousand euros, and the municipality expects the work to begin in 2016, with an execution period of 180 days.
The Câmara de Lagoa points out that, “as there is a high water delivery point in the Alporchinhos reservoir and the Porches Reservoir being better located to supply that area, a project was drawn up for the installation of a pumping station in the Alporchinhos reservoir and an elevator duct to the elevated Porches tank».
This solution, in addition to having «more water availability, significantly reduces the costs associated with lifting water from Lagoa», adds the Lagoa municipality.
