The Alentejo sing will echo at Espaço Guadiana, in Alcoutim, by the voice of four choral groups, in a show that will take place tomorrow, Saturday, from 21 pm.
The concert, promoted by the Chamber and the Experimental Theater of Alcoutim, will bring together on stage the choral groups «Os Caldeireiros de S. João», «Stars from Alentejo of Santa Vitória» (female), «Guadiana de Mértola» and the Choral Group and Ethnographic of the House of the People of Brinches.
«Born in taverns and in the fields, Alentejo cante has been transmitted over several generations and is now a heritage of humanity. This collective song, without recourse to instruments and which incorporates music and poetry, was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity last November», recalled the Chamber of Alcoutim, in a press release.
