Vertical Race - Jorge Gomes (18)The Vertical Race in Quarteira brought together around 1500 people at the Aquashow this Saturday night. The show competition, which was the first of its kind held in Portugal, left the organization satisfied and was guaranteed that the initiative will be repeated in future years.

Marco Pereira, mentor of the Aquashow Vertical Race, told the Sul Informação that were in the area surrounding the “Free Fall” and in the wave pool «about 1500 people, which proves that the reception was good, there was an excellent participation, and the balance is quite positive».

The sporting aspect was allied to music with the performance of Christian F, who cheered the audience that went to the water park.

Pedro Brás, from the Novas Descobertas project, was the one who managed to climb the 200 steps in less time: 47,396 seconds. In second place was Fábio Torres and André Silva won third place on the podium, in the men's.

In the ladies, Catarina Costa do Fitness 24/7 was the fastest (56,983s), followed by Irina Coelho and Catarina Gabadinho.

“Corrida Vertical Aquashow” was organized by the Algarve Trail Running and Vertical Race, with the support of Quarteira Night Runners, in co-partnership with the Municipality of Loulé. The event was named “Loulé European City of Sport 2015”.
