Nuno LopesThe Academic Week 2015 has a «cheap poster» and the music on the main stage will finish earlier than in previous years, to minimize the inconvenience to the city's inhabitants. However, the president of the Academic Association Nuno Lopes guarantees that the quality of the event will not suffer from the changes.

The presentation of the poster for the XXX Academic Week of the Algarve took place yesterday afternoon at the Forum Algarve's FNAC, a choice that also aims to bring the festival closer to students in the city of Faro.

«We have to try to enhance the connection and synergies with the city of Faro. We aim to bring the city closer to students and it is important to change the image of what the university student is. It is important to start with the most difficult moment, the Academic Week, which is very difficult to communicate to those who are not living it, to those who are not university students», explains Nuno Lopes.

During the days the event will take place, next to the Municipal Swimming Pools, the music on the main stage will end earlier: on Fridays and Saturdays, until 3:30 am and, from Sunday to Thursday, until 2:30 am. From that time onwards, entertainment in Wonderland will be in charge of the stalls and the DJ's tent, which this year will return to the venue.

«We will try to mark the music without compromising the event. We tried to find an ideal model for both parties, […] to respond to the discomfort of the inhabitants. We hope that the reaction is good, and that it is noticed that there is an effort on our part», says the president of the Academic Association.

Regarding the poster, which still has an artist to be released for the night of May 8th, the Academic Association tried to «ensure that every day there was a clear bet on an artist that students could identify with, and feel comfortable with. to go".

The budget has dropped, but Nuno Lopes says that the event will not suffer: «if this is not the cheapest poster of the Academic Week ever, it is one of the cheapest, without losing quality. We didn't bring any U2s or Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but we have to be aware of reality and this is a very “down-to-earth” poster. I would call it a cheap poster, because it is, and it meets the target audience», he concludes.
