Opposition parties in the Municipal Assembly of Faro approved a Motion in Defense of Health Services in the Algarve, despite the votes against by the deputies of the PSD and CDS. This was one of the decisions taken at the session of this body that took place on Friday, which also approved a Motion on the construction of the North Bypass to Faro, proposed by the PSD.

In a minority in the Municipal Assembly, the coalition that supports the executive led by Rogério Bacalhau (PSD/CDS/PPM/MPT/MIM) was unable to avoid the approval of the motion on Health, advanced by municipal deputies of the PS, with an addendum proposed by CDU. Those elected by the PS, CDU, BE and «Save Faro» (CFC-SF), with PSD and CDS deputies voting against, with the exception of one CDS deputy.

The PSD's proposal for the North Bypass arose on the same day that Rogério Bacalhau defended, during a public discussion attended by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, the swift conclusion of the work. «If the concessionaire does not have the capacity, the work is rescued», asked the Farense mayor.

In the Municipal Assembly, the proposal of the Social Democrats was approved with a large majority of votes in favor and five abstentions.
In the same AM session of Faro, a motion on the commemorations of the 40th Anniversary of the 25th of April was unanimously approved, presented by the PSD and unanimously approved, a proposal by the CFC-SF «In Defense of the Ria Formosa and Gentes do Mar» and a third motion, presented by the BE, on the Modernization and Electrification of the Algarve Railway.

The CDU proposal «No to the privatization of the Empresa Geral de Fomento» was approved by a majority, with the votes in favor of the PS, CDU, BE and CFC-SF and abstention of the municipal groups of the PSD and CDS).
