The exhibition of four of the 16 restored paintings of the Colégio dos Jesuitas de Portimão, on display since June 20 in the Portimão Museum atrium, can be seen until next Sunday, July 28th.

The 16 canvases were ordered to be restored, at the initiative of the Câmara de Portimão, at the Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva Foundation, in Lisbon, between 2009 and 2011, this being their first public presentation.

The four canvases on display present religious paintings, namely «St. Ursula and the Eleven Thousand Virgins», «Holy Jesuit Martyrs of Japan», «Sagrada Família» and «Investiture of the Franciscan habit to St. Anthony».

The Museum of Portimão, meanwhile, is already practicing its new summer schedule, which remains until 31 August. Thus, the Museum continues on Mondays, opening on Tuesdays from 19:30 pm to 23:00 pm, and on the other days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday, from 15:00 pm to 23:00 pm. It is a time that, according to the director of the Museum, allows “to reconcile the beach with the museum”.
