“Land Use – Dimensions| Dynamics | Challenges” is the theme of the days scheduled for the 25th of June, at Lídia Jorge Municipal Library, in Albufeira.
This initiative, jointly organized by the Albufeira City Council and the Algarve Regional Section of the Portuguese Association of Landscape Architects (SRAlgarve APAP), coordinated by the Albufeira Urban Rehabilitation Office, aims to «stimulate a comprehensive discussion forum and diversified, open to technicians from different areas and to the community in general, for debate and reflection on issues related to Territory and Landscape, from the perspective of their development».
Another objective is to sensitize technicians and citizens in general to the importance of issues related to the development of the territory and landscape.
With this event, the Municipality and SRAlgarve APAP intend to «create a space for debate and reflection, contributing to the construction of an active citizenship, based on an enlightened, conscious and intervening public opinion in the face of the global challenges that arise in terms of management of the territory'.
The works will take place throughout the day, with the opening session scheduled for 9:30 am. In the morning, two sessions are planned: the first, at 10:00 am, will address the “Trends of Evolution of Land Use | Landscape in the Algarve” and “As Villages and Landscape”, on Monday, from 11am, the “Cultural and Intangible Identity of Landscape” will be discussed and the case “Plurality and Diversity of the Rural Space – the Querença Experience” will be presented. .
In the afternoon, starting at 14:30 pm, the topics for debate are “Agriculture in the Algarve”, “Use of Soil| Traditional Products| Local Networks”, “Experience of the Urban Gardens of Loulé”, “Producing for the Future| Organic Agriculture” and “Local Resources| Health and Balance”.
