The Golf Championship, which every year puts the young athletes who make up the football schools in Albufeira at stake every year, started on Saturday, with the first teams to face each other on the synthetic fields of Guia.
From March to May, around 200 children, between 5 and 8 years old, will once again visit the municipality's stadiums in a lively competition, comprising six days.
Imortal Desportivo Clube, Futebol Clube de Ferreiras, Academia Alto da Colina, Guia Futebol Clube and Padernense are the clubs represented by the mini-stars.
In total, there are 16 teams that invade the pitches of the various parishes, in a race made up of two age groups. The group of Dolphins A includes players aged 8 years, while the group of Dolphins B is intended for children aged 7 years. The youngest ones, aged between 5 and 6 years old, make up the C class.
Now in its seventh edition, the tournament continues to be a success among the youngest.
The fact that there is no federated competitive activity for this age group, at national level, makes the Golfinhos an unprecedented project with great success among the community.
