The CGTP inter-union central has scheduled protests for this afternoon in Faro, Portimão and Vila Real de Santo António, as well as in several other cities all over the country. A «National Journey of Action and Struggle» that takes place a few days after the historical peak of unemployment levels in the Algarve region has been reached.

In this street action, which in the region will be led by the Union of Unions of the Algarve (USAL), the CGTP will «demand the increase in salaries and the updating of the minimum wage to 515 euros as a way to stop the crisis and guarantee tax and consolidate Social Security”, according to the manifesto that supports the call for the protest.

The CGTP also defends the increase in pensions and pensions and the adoption of an emergency program to combat unemployment and the guarantee of the extension of the unemployment social benefit to all unemployed people who do not have social protection.

Em Faro, the concentration is scheduled for the roundabout next to João de Deus Secondary School (formerly Liceu), in Portimão for Alameda Praça da República and in Vila Real de Santo António for Praça Marquês de Pombal, always at 15:30.
