The Dances of the World returns to the Nights of Verbena, on Sunday 19th, for another intercultural encounter through the music and dance of various countries.

In this month of Gostos D'Agosto, FolkFaro- International Festival of the City of Faro reveals the magic of people who preserve and keep alive their cultural roots through typically traditional music and dances.

Starting at 22 pm, the dances of the world take to the stage at Jardim da Verbena to show the warm rhythms of Brazil, the vivacity of Peru and the joy of Ukraine. In this year's edition, Brazil is represented by the group Frutos da Terra and promises to ignite the audience with hot rhythms and very dynamic dances. Formed about 00 years ago, this group aims to keep alive the traditions and customs of Brazilian culture through dance.

Originally from Ukraine, the Folk Dance Ensemble “Volynyanka”, created by the local house of culture in Lutsk, currently has more than half a century of existence and includes in its repertoire a diverse display of the Ukrainian cultural richness, folk dances, dances of wheel, among many others.

Founded in 2007 in the city of Lima, the Qhaswa Peru Cultural Association of Peruvian Dances aims to promote Peru's cultural traditions through folk music and dance.

It is made up of young dancers and musicians interested in promoting the cultural heritage and its rich diversity. Qhaswa Peru, in Quechua means “Feast and Dance”. It presents dances with very beautiful choreographies complemented with very rich and eye-catching clothing performed by handcraft.

This initiative, organized by the Folklore Group of Faro, with the support of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, intends to value the different cultures of the world through dance, while promoting interculturality and respect between peoples.

The Intercultural Mercadinho also takes place in the same space, as part of the Summer Mercadinhos Cycle, which presents a diversified set of products from various nationalities.
